MY VISION

"To work with the best off-site manufacturers where my experienced assembly teams will provide the best solution to our clients’ needs."

My name is Linas and I’m very proud to introduce my company. I started to work in construction about 20 years ago while studying engineering at university. Having always followed a passion for wood, I decided that carpentry would be the ideal career direction for me. I advanced very quickly thanks to the help and support of my mentor.

Studying engineering helped me a great deal to read drawings and plans. I’ve always followed four core values for my work: precision, quality, speed, and teamwork. Implementing them has always helped me to find new and interesting projects.

With 10 years of carpentry experience under our belt, my brother and I created our own company. It was an exciting journey, however after five years I strongly felt that traditional construction was not for me. I needed more challenging work, and started to look for various areas where I could fulfil my potential. Consequently, modern methods of off-site construction were just perfect.

This led me to establish my own company in early 2019 – Hands On Wood Ltd. I’m personally committed to ensuring that we deliver on our core values that work perfectly within industry:

  • Precision engineering

  • Quality craftsmanship

  • Speed of build

  • Cost-effective and time-efficient

  • Energy-efficient and sustainable

Having hand-picked members of my team myself, I make sure that every single one is a highly experienced operative and that they understand my vision. Since March 2019, my company has been the sole provider of Streif UK’s assembly team.  At the forefront of off-site manufactured buildings, Streif is the European market leader for sustainable building systems.

Following our first joint project at Hailsham Primary School, supported by my assembly team and working closely with Streif UK for Morgan Sindall, Streif UK was awarded ‘Supply Chain Contractor of the Year for 2019’. It was a huge honour and certainly proved that we are on the right path.
